Toyota is recalling certain model year 2005-2007 Toyota Corolla, Corolla Matrix, Sequoia, and 2005-2006 Toyota Tundra vehicles that were originally sold, or ever registered, in Florida, along the Gulf Coast, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The recall affects roughly 300,000 vehicles.
The recall is being made due to safety concerns with the passenger side airbag. It is feared that when deployed the airbag could shoot out metal fragments.
What to do
Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331, although Toyota will notify owners, who can then have their passenger side front air bag replaced free of charge at dealerships.
