Asthma is a condition in which a person’s airways narrow and swell, produce extra mucus, and become inflamed. The medical community has long been able to describe the events of an asthma attack, but have been unable to identify the attack’s cause. That is, until now.
Scientists have discovered the cells that cause a person’s airways to constrict. Additionally, they believe they know how to block these cells from triggering an asthma attack.
With clinical trials hopefully soon to start, asthma could be cured in as quickly as 5 years.
